Activity description
Our Italian company - Ompeco Srl - has been engaged for years in the construction of machinery for the sterilization of hospital waste with high infectious risk and for the treatment of municipal solid waste. We have recently extended our market to the military sector and to the oil and mineral sector.
Our basic product is the Converter, a machine that allows you to treat waste on site and that does not use chemicals, combustion, microwave or pressure to do so and does not produce any type of emission, both concerning wastewater than concerning gases emitted.
In about 30 minutes of cycle the Converter will transform the infected waste into a sterile substance, dry and odorless, the fluff, a kind of sawdust that can be reused as fuel and that sees reduced by 80% the volume and 50% the weight of the initial waste.
The Converter technology takes advantage of the conversion of mechanical energy into thermal energy, inside the Converter’s chamber a temperature of 151° C is reached. This ensures the sterilization of the treated waste (crushing and wet heat sterilization without use of pressure).
The use of this type of risk-free technology has allowed us to supply our machines to oil platforms and military boats. In general, our technology can be of great interest in all those contexts in which the transport component of waste weighs heavily on the operating cost of management of the same refusal.
With our machines we can manage any waste stream up to about 65% of the moisture content, which can include organic materials, contaminated plastics and cardboard.
